A Canterbury BBQ Revolution!
Since we established BBQs Direct in 2011 we've watched as Cantabrians passion and growing preference for "smokey" BBQ, returning to charcoal, wood and pellet grills, has grown over the years from what we'd described as a Renaissance to what we see now is a full blown Revolution! BBQ is evolving from what has been traditionally casual social occasions at home over the summer months to a mad keen - and competitive - year round passtime .
Canterbury BBQ Pitmasters Facebook Group: after the inaugural Meatstock BBQ Festival held in Auckland in 2017 and following a casual conversation between some motivated enthusiasts here at BBQs Direct, the Canterbury BBQ Pitmasters Facebook Group was set up. Now numbering more than 4000 members the Facebook Page is a valuable forum for the exchange of BBQ advice and information.
The house that helps to chase the clouds away
BBQs Direct proudly supports our nominated charity: Ronald McDonald House, South Island. Ronald McDonald House helps South Island families - while their children receive hospital care in Christchurch
Families are better when they are together. Many families coping with a seriously ill child and trying to meet the demands of other family members also have to deal with the difficulties of staying in an unfamiliar city - it can be overwhelming.
That's where Ronald McDonald House helps. By providing a 'home away from home ' in a positive and supportive environment, families can concentrate on their child's recovery without having to worry about the practical day-to-day tasks.
