Author: Graeme Jones - Addington Events Centre Manager, Christchurch
The book reflects his cooking journey, from an apprenticeship at The George Hotel in Christchurch to Executive Chef stints in the Bay of Islands and Whangarei, and then back to Christchurch to work for Continental Caterers and then Airport Sudima Hotel before arriving at Addington in 2010 pre-earthquake.
"This book is not just "here's a recipe and here's a picture", it's got some narrative and I tell a few yarns."
"The recipes come from many years of doing this - I've got decades of industry experience, there's not a lot I haven't done."
KISS – Keep It Simple Stupid, is a term in which people use everywhere to try and make their point by not over complicating the situation.
Basically, getting started would sum this book up. This not just for the amateur either as I doubt that some professional cooks/chefs would have gone to some of these levels with dish ideas. It is also not a pretentious tweezer tweaking book that Michaelangelo would have swapped a paint brush for.
P.S – Don’t F#*k it up and enjoy the great times to come, you BBQ warrior.
