Are you ready to showcase your BBQ mastery in one of New Zealand’s most creative culinary challenges? BBQs Direct is proud to host the Social Degustation SCA Cookoff on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, and we want you to bring the heat!

This groundbreaking event will test your skills and creativity in a unique format:
> Single Steak Cookoff – Bring your best steak game to the table.
>Four Ancillary Dishes – 1. Amuse Bouche 2. Appetiser 3. Dessert 4. Cocktail - Designed to flow as a degustation sequence, (with the steak as the "main" in the middle) giving you the chance to wow the judges with flavour, presentation, and innovation.

This competition promises to push the boundaries of BBQ artistry, so whether you're a seasoned competitor or eager to prove yourself on the big stage, this is your moment to shine! In addition to prize money in each category, compete in all 5 - cook the full degustation - and you qualify to win the Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion title and prizes.

11:00 - 11:30pm 1st Ancillary Turn- In - Amuse Bouche
12:00 - 12:30pm 2nd Ancillary Turn In - Appetiser
1:00 - 1:30pm Steak Turn In
2:00 - 2:30pm 3rd Ancillary Turn In - Dessert
3:00 - 3:30pm 4th Ancillary Turn In - Cocktail
4:30pm Awards Presentation


Public welcome! come along to watch the competitions throughout the day, there will be plenty of opportunity to banter BBQ with competitors once the pressure is off and entries have been submitted to the judges.
