More than 25 Cooks are ready to showcase their BBQ mastery in one of New Zealand’s most creative culinary BBQ challenges INCLUDING 7 of NZ's 2024 TOP TEN Steak Cooks - and 8 of NZ's 2024 TOP TEN Ancillary Cooks

BBQs Direct is proud to host the Social Degustation SCA Cookoff on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, don’t miss this exciting opportunity to witness BBQ artistry in action—join us and be part of the fun!

This groundbreaking competition will test Cooks skills and creativity in a unique format:
• Single Steak Cookoff – Bring their best steak game to the table.
• Four Creative Ancillary Dishes:
1. Amuse Bouche
2. Appetiser
3. Dessert
4. Cocktail

Designed as a degustation sequence, these dishes—with steak as the "main"—will challenge cooks to wow the judges with flavour, presentation, and innovation.
In addition to Cash prizes in each category, a Grand Champion or Reserve Grand Champion will also be crowned – with cash and prizes over $7,000

• 8:00 AM: Bump-In & Breakfast
• 9:00 AM: Cooks Meeting/Steak Selection
• 10:00 AM: Judges Meeting
• 11:00 - 11:30 AM: 1st Ancillary Turn-In – Amuse Bouche
• 12:00 - 12:30 PM: 2nd Ancillary Turn-In – Appetiser
• 1:00 - 1:30 PM: Steak Turn-In
• 2:00 - 2:30 PM: 3rd Ancillary Turn-In – Dessert
• 3:00 - 3:30 PM: 4th Ancillary Turn-In – Cocktail
• 4:30 PM: Awards Presentation

Public Welcome!
Join us to watch the exciting competitions unfold throughout the day. After the heat of the contest, chat BBQ and share some laughs with the competitors once their entries are submitted. Stick around for the awards ceremony to find out who takes home the cash prizes, points, and, of course, the ultimate bragging rights!
This event is officially sanctioned by the Steak Cookoff Association USA, making it a must-attend for BBQ enthusiasts.
